The DPS Group offers Custom websites for Business and Corporate clients, including wire frame proposals, artistic design, databasing, and back-end programming.
A content management system, or CMS, is a web application designed to make it easy for non-technical users to add, edit and manage a website. All your content and related settings are saved to a database. These changes are retrieved each time your website is accessed. This allows for instant display of any editing or new content. It also makes everything available for RSS feeds if you choose.
As a website owner, you no longer have to rely on Web Services personnel to make changes to your site, you can do it yourself, or assign staff to keep the site updated. Editing is done by logging in to the front end and clicking on the article or image you wish to edit. A wordprocessor-type editing screen will allow you to edit, delete or add content, then save to make it instantly available to viewers.
The advantages are endless, while saving time and money are at the top of the list, expediency is high up. An example of this can be seen in putting out a press release. Management wants it available to the public as soon as possible. The old way:
1. Write the release and get it approved
2. Put on the wire
3. Provide a copy to the Web Group acting as administrator for your site.
4. The Web group converts it to HTML and inserts it on your Web Site, this may take several days.
With CMS you authorize the press release and give it to the person in charge of web content. Walla! It is not only instantly available on your website, but depending on your other settings, can be made instantly available to your Mobile App and Social Media via RSS feed. With RSS feed, it can be made instantly available to the wire.
